L’artista deve poter riprodurre ciò che vede attraverso il filtro della propria sensibilità escludendo qualsiasi diaframma di ordine convenzionale: partire da una commozione per poi rappresentare una realtà interiore che trae spunto da soggetti esterni, sia pure precedentemente interiorizzati, ma che talvolta può anche esprimersi attraverso forme non più individuabili in una realtà esteriore.

The artist must be able to reproduce what he sees through the filter of his own sensibility, excluding all conventions: he must begin from a deep emotion in order to represent an inner truth which takes its inspiration from external subjects, even if earlier made his own. At times he must also be able to express himself through forms which can no longer be recognised in an external reality.
